Skyrim crashing every 15-20 minutes

Thread Starter
As the subject states, Skyrim is crashing...constantly. Whenever I go out a door, fast travel or just randomly because it feels like it, it's crashing. I've done a full reinstall, deleted and updated all of the files and Im crashing...constantly. Along with the occasional milky-purple textures on people, dragons, trees etc. I haven't modded the game at all because I'm too damn afraid that if I do anything, Ill have an unstable client...but hell, it's crap anyways.

Does anyone have any insight on this?

Try the 4GB patch if you haven't. I haven't had any crashes since I've used it.

Also, try to validate your files on steam, a defrag on the steam files wouldnt hurt either,

To both of you guys, I've ran the validation to no avail, but Ill give the 4gb patch a go. Are there any tricks to working it? Is it only just running the .exe?

There are several mods that "fix" the issues you are having. The game is good, not crap at all. People that are having issues, i think its their setup, not the game.

Does the game just crash, or does this system go with it too? If it's just the game, do you get any specific error? How are the temps on your video card while you're playing? If they're high, they can crash a game pretty quickly.

When it crashes, it just..disappears. Go to open a door, window vanishes. The temps are all just fine, and I get no errors or anything. That's what's getting me!
