Dell 30 inch monitor Res help

Thread Starter
A friend of mine is wanting to use his Dell 30in Monitor to run a 2560x1600 resolution. He hooked it up to his computer and it will only do about half of that res. I was reading about the different types of cables. What cable should he get to be able to run that res?

This is the monitor he has: Dell 3007WFP

I was looking at that but didn't see any that said they supported the resolution the monitor is capable of.

Should be good as long as it's specifically dual link. Any video card made in the last 5 years or so should support the resolution

Dual-link DVI cables have full rows of pins with none missing, plus the "cross" group on the other end. Single link cables are the ones with "missing" pins. Single-link DVI only supports up to 1080p at 60hz as far as I know.

Edit: This image illustrates what I mean. The second row are single-link, and the third row are dual-link.
