That is so true, those game uses new engines and even the 570 can max them out if you overclock it, at least in 1080p, maybe not in 32x antialas or whatever but still, there are games that i cannot tell the difference between 4xvs8x lol. I have a Ps3 and a 360 for exclusives so i don't mind using a middle antialas setup in my games on Pc it still look greater than my consoles.

I think that until we don't get new engines or very bad ports from consoles a 570/580 should be enough for 2012, even 2013. It's sad but you have to look at consoles this days to get a reference of what you can expect from games and with new consoles releasing in maybe Q4 2012 - 2013 we won't get games that will push our cards and if we get them they will be made in frostbite 2.0 for example and for me it is a very good engine who works very well and looks awesome and run in this 2010 vgas.

In the case of Witcher 2, or Batman Arkham City (Dx11) or Metro 2033, Skyrim, etc, for example, well i think those games are bad optimized, i can max out Witcher 2 just by don't using "Ubersampling" and that option does not hurt your graphics in any way i really can't tell any difference while playing and dying in the game, maybe sometimes i'm worry of other thing in games that i don't notice that "wow i have Ubersampling" expect the huge fps drop biggrin.gif

In the end everything comes to what you want, max every game outhere even that it was bad developed, well then get a Tri/Quad Sli and play it @32x antialas @ 5960x1200.

In my personal case, i'm happy with less than that, just full hd, almost everything on "Ultra" and 4-8x AA and my card can handle it very well.

A bit exaggerated. My 570s are running at pretty much maximum voltages allowed with a heavy overclock on GPU and memory for both cards. My CPU is also overclocked to 4.80 GHz with 1.460V. Needless to say a good 750W PSU is enough!!

My personal input to this thread is to get two 570s. MSI Twin FrozR III cards are a brilliant choice in my experience. Overclock them massively and there you go!

Hi,
My 2 gtx 570's in sli at 1.1v 892mhz pulls 680 watts from the wall using a wattage reader and heaven benchmark and this is allso while running a cpu stress test wink.gif, gaming usually hovers around 400/500watts, just thought that i'd share that.

So many great responses, thank you to everyone. I'm really afraid of overclocking due to Murphy and his law being a major part of my life, also, the cards I'm currently running came factory OC'ed and i tried taking them further and it did no good. I'm just so torn between choosing due to my 275's still rocking alot of games, Skyrim being one of them. I do get the occasional slow down, but from what I have read, so do some users with pretty beefy rigs. So it must be an optimization issue. DX11 is not an issue to me, I don't play Metro 2033. I won't be playing the Batman games either. i did play through Witcher 2 with just about everything maxed sans Ubersampling, and it was still a great experience. I do want to take full advantage of features in the near future of games though. My sli setup was able to play the Diablo 3 beta without any struggle, but Blizzard is also one of the few companies who get their games right. So, still torn between the 570/580 choice, have read some good arguments in this post. I know it may be blasphemy, but i still have to ask.....what about ATI? I primarily choose Nvidia for things like Physx, but from my understanding alot of the games I play don't incorporate it.

I was debating on a 6970 Xfire setup, but trying to determine how much further that would get me from my current setup

a corsair tx 750 is enough to sli two 580's just dont go trying to fold on them or anything. But for gaming purposes a quality 750watt unit is enough. anyone who buys more than that and isnt folding is foolish.

SLI GTX 570's or CFX 6970s. Both will perform similar to GTX 580 SLI. 750 Watt PSU.

Alright, I believe I have made up my mind with SLI 570's. Now does anyone have any input as to which brand gives the best performance/warranty? And does the ram on them really matter past 1gb?
