I don't really like to label myself in a very precise way when it comes to a hobby like this. Labeling myself in this way only shoots myself in the foot and fails to broaden horizons.

I'm a gamer. I will play any game, on any console, as long as it's fun, or good. Pure fun games aren't a bad thing, where one just logs on to run through and kill waves of enemies, or have some team fighting fun with your friends or random people. "Good" games, are a combination of everything: Fun, good story, great graphics, excellent replay value, and other things to keep you busy and immersed. Good games, and even great games are harder to come by when you only play on one console.

I owned all of the consoles, but recently sold my Ps3 due to financial issues. I still have my 360 which I never touch (it's my brother's realistically), and my Wii. I spend most of my time on the computer due to it's ease. I can surf around on the internet and play games at the same time, and I very much enjoy the keyboard and mouse controls. I do miss having a controller in my hands occasionally though.

But really, why limit yourself? If you can do something about it, play all games and any game you want. So many good ones are out there for many different consoles.

However, if you have to limit yourself (since not everyone can own every console), then PC gaming is a pretty good choice overall. I loved my Ps3 the best though when I had it, as far as consoles go.

Each console offers different types of gameplay. Play them if you can.

Well the OP has a small point here PC gamers whine alot when it comes to games and it is kinda annoying.
And yes in some cases they are totally right for the whinning but on some occasions they are just nitpicking and wan't to find something to whine about.

I am a PC gamer because I like RTS games, and the feel of mouse/keyboard.

I maintain a decent PC because I love computer hardware.

Two different things.

Graphics are definitely not the case of being a PC gamer, Yeah its nice sometimes we get games with amazing graphics but most games these days last a maximum of 20 hours gameplay.

No matter what you play on, I like having a smoother game to play too than have awesome graphics, And tbh i have been studying how i use graphics in my games, Like i tend to take off the bloom effect or have it on a low volume if possible
Also no motion blur as it sucks tbh.

GOG is the place to start where gameplay REALLY draws you in, Baldurs gate? Ultima 7? Man every game there is pure gameplay appreciation

I could be wrong but you're probably fairly young and your naivety shows in your sweeping generalisations.

@Saizer

Making sweeping broad statements such as your OP and:
Quote:
The point of this thread wasn't which one has better games, the point of it was to make you realize PC gamers NOWADAYS (not in 1990 or 2002) look at graphics more than anything else.

is not only naive but makes me wonder why it bugs you so much that you'd make a thread about it!?

I mean, it's not like you started a poll or requested input. You're not collecting data here either. You're simply biasing PC gamers with overly broad statements about one particular aspect of the experience. What's the point? thinking.gif
