So your position is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to run a Core 2 Duo CPU at 1.213 Vcore, even though the rated voltage range for the CPU is 0.850V-1.3525V????

I understand that there may be an error making certain other voltages register this number as well.....but to say the ONLY way this number (which falls within the normal operating range of the CPU) can be displayed is if it's over-volted, is, as Ropey said, left-hand logic.

Every CPU is different........and perhaps this CPU was able to achieve this feat through a different overclocking approach. Perhaps he allowed the CPU to run at stock for a little while, then slowly increased FSB and allowed the CPU to 'settle' at it's new settings. Not everyone simply plugs in a CPU and immediatly bumps the FSB 150 and raises Vcore because that's the settings they have seen acheived by someone else.

Congrats markuk3, looks like you have a good system and a nice CPU.

Ok, just got back from mark's house.

Voltage at 3.5Ghz was stock, we also overclocked a little more with 1.5-1.6vcore and CPUz still read it at 1.21v, so no matter what voltage went through the chip CPUz could'nt read it right (even the window's Asus AI tuner had problems).

So at 3.5Ghz voltage was stock, end of.

I know every CPU is different but if you really got an amazing chip, why can't you post all the info that i requested rather than saying i'm the noob and ignorance. Just post a screen shot to prove me wrong

And BTW i hit 4.0 with stock vcore with my E6400, but i refuse to give screenshot

Also, the earth core issue, it is PROVEN with pictures and researches about it, so you don't have to actually see the damn thing. It is proven by highly professional scientists, so that ruled that issue out. Please try to be more consise on your comparision, that was a stupid thing to compare to

Best E6600 is this http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=116213

Meaning you're having the L628B batch instead of A
So you are now calling the both of us liars .Thats fine carry on but do unsubscribe from the thread . I only created the thread to gain a little experience from my youngers and betters. I honestly had no idea of the capabilities of this chip . ihad not researched it ,therefore starting off as a blank canvas i had no idea what to expect and bought it on a whim . Why buy on a whim thats easy because i can. so when iposted the thread i had no idea that this would be such a pain in the neck. There is no way you can truly verify anyones benchies or hardware unless it has been scrutinised in person . In real time as it were .Dan turned up unanounced so i had no time to change anything . I showed him a real time cpuz screenie and ai suite then i rebooted into the bios and showed the bios exactly as i have explained before . Also showing bench marking of super pi and other stress software . Please read his post. Also here are a few of the benchies we did . I wont post teh fsb or cpu speed as yet because cause to many issues

ok back from work and we are off again .First of all i will make a full and honest public apology .
1 . I asked in this thread if there was any possible program that could automaticaly up the v-core on this chip ...Answer didnt recieve any
2 . i said i have not added v-core that was the truth i hadn,t
3 . all the 2 guys were interested about was the fact that i had or had not upped the v-core ...I hadnt

Perhaps someone should have told me about AI. Which automaticaly adds v-core
Also i had no idea that cpuzas, Everest, si sandra does not support this chipset so readings were inaccurate even the configured speed fan is not giving me correct temps

That said i have used the AI facility just to check temps @460mhz fsb X8 giving a 3.8 oc stable over last night prime 2 instances running .
Tjhis is the oc that has given me the newer scores temps do rise to 45% with 1.5675 v-core the screenies of super pi and aq3 were completed using this oc will run the others tonight

So please excuse my rants as i was being honest as not adding v-core but have now found out that it was being added by AI

IAPOLOGISE WHOLE HEARTEDLY M

Yeah but AI was'nt running with your first O/C to 3.5Ghz, or did it start with windows?

But still, if the stock vcore was'nt enough at 3.5Ghz it would crash the startup before AI could load.

To All,

The P5B Deluxe BIOS is automatically changing the VCore Voltage based on FSB and Multiplier even in AUTO mode. I have experienced the exact same thing that this gentleman is seeing...I will post a screen shot when I get home tonight. You can look at my thread also.

http://www.overclock.net/intel-mothe...cking-rig.html

PS - To verify this, install PC Probe II from the ASUS CD and tell me what this is saying. My guess at 3.5 GHz is that you will be displaying a VCore of about 1.53 Volts.

This is what i was thinking, i did'nt know if "Auto" selected the default voltage of the CPU or if it upped the vcore with the FSB etc.

Thank's for that

BTW, nice rig, wow!
