yeah, it would probably work just fine. Be careful though when vacuuming fans, because you don't want them to spin super fast when you run air through them. I would suggest putting your finger in one to prevent uncontrollable spinning that could damage the fan. Furthermore, make sure you use a gentle touch when vacuuming, as your motherboard, fans, heatsinks, and overall computer is a very delicate piece of equpment

Idk, I'd be weary of using anything that blows to hard on the system or using anything near them that could potentially damage it if you were to accidently knock into it. I usually just use a can of compressed air...if it's really bad just take the mobo out of the case and pull everything apart and blow off the dust real good with the can of compressed air..that's what I usually do anyways. Typically I try to dust out my system about once every 1-2 months, that way its not caked on there and easily blows off clean with the compressed can of air.

wait, are you using the vacuum to blow on the PC or to suck dust away?

i use a shop vac in blower mode. with the narrow crevice(?) attachment, it takes 2-3 quick passes before my parts are cleaned. for GPUs, i use a smaller can of air for finer detailing. i never used to hold the fan blades, but after reading some info on it, i started using a straw or a pencil.

are you taking the entire pc apart before cleaning? i always take my pc apart, so i can check for any other damage when it is clean. Dust has a nice way of hiding things if left unchecked.

i use this one @ http://www.homedepot.com/Tools-Hardware-Wet-Dry-Vacuums/h_d1/N-5yc1vZb8pi/R-202198493/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 - except that i use a 6HP one, so it is really loud, and pushes an insane amount of air through my pc case.

i always take mine apart every time - leave no mobo component behind in the cleaning!

i think he meant when cleaning it. some like to leave their parts installed and hooked up, i guess.
