Just curious, but could me not installing Intel Management Engine Interface cause the trouble? It's listed under chipset so that could be the problem.

What speed is your RAM running and what is your VCCSA set at in BIOS?

1600Mhz and VCCSA on auto but around 1.265v.

Another question, but does Sata 6g drivers need to be installed before the lanes actually work? My guess, no, since I don't recall 3gbs needing it to install on. Reason I ask is cause right after Windows copys the data to the ssd and restarts, I get error code 0xc0000017. I haven't even gotten to the desktop yet.

Oh how this thread is full of double posts. smile.gif

Anyway, I might have actually figured it out. I decided to try my HDD again, since it already has win 7 loaded, and that wasn't giving me the errors in the previous posts. Plus I was able to run 285.xx drivers in SLI and actually complete 3dmark 11, twice! I believe I might have an intermediate ssd problem.

That was fun. It's time to update the firmware lol

I know right. smile.gif I was really starting to get frustrated.

Latest firmware for the SSD is 0009 from August, so I'm pretty sure mine is up to date. Looks like I'm going to have to RMA it.

Contact Technical, they might send you updated firmware for X79. Contact ASUS too for BIOS update.

Hmm, noticed when I put 4 sticks back in (was using 4 out of 8) I started getting problems. When I checked the sticks they were quite hot.

Upped cooling on the sticks and they should be fine. Also lowered voltage a little. But, again, still crashes at idle. Ran Prime95 just after fine. Also did a Memtest and that came back fine too. I'm gonna blame drivers at this point.
