Athlon 64 x2 4000+ Overclock? - Page 2

I give up. This stupid Asus motherboard is worthless for overclocking. You cannot adjust the HT, "It's auto detected" is what the tech support told me and therefore not able to be adjusted. If anyone knows of an AM2 motherboard w/ 4 DDR2 6400 slots, firewire port on motherboard for front panel, PCI-E, and can overclock let me know. Also prefer it to come w/ gig ethernet and Nvidia chipset. So far this is all that I have found that meets most of what I want in a board.

I also would like some help overclocking my processor. I think my mobo is good enough, and have 4 80mm fans that blow 84cfms @ 5700rpms to take care of my over heating problems. Current CPU temp is at a steady 35*-38*C. TIA

Can't beat a bit of overclocking....I'd aim for something a little less than 24ghz though

Wish mine would go that high. When I set to 210 its fine (10x210= 2100), but when I set to 220 (10x220=2200) I get stuck in a boot loop. All ram setting are good too. I wish I got the results you did, most likely just a diff in the two boards.

I get the same thing on my asus K8N-E Deluxe socket 754 board. If i raise fsb past 210, it wont even post, regardless of what I do with ram or Ht multi's or cpu multi. When it comes to overclocking I think so much is riding on the quality of the chipset and mobo.
