iPhone 4 or Droid Bionic.

Thread Starter
I currently have the iPhone 4 for Verizon and someone offered me to trade me his Droid Bionic. I live in a non 4g area and it will not come until late 2012 or early 2013. I am very familiar with android so rooting and roms won't be an issue. But battery life is most important to me. Should I just keep my iPhone since there's no 4g in my area and the Bionic would most likely have horrible battery life.

Anything would be better than the iPhone, so I would go with the Droid. Besides, at least you can swap out the battery quickly unlike the iPhone.

My iPhone normally lasts me through a whole day and sometimes even two days, so that really isn't a issue. The more important thing for the Bionic is, can it last through one day of heavy usage? I watch Netflix, text and do lots of browsing. From reading reviews Bionic does REALLY bad in battery life. I know a update came out yesterday or before that should address the issue but I would need some Bionic owners to chime in their wisdom.

Speck wise Bionic is better. It will get ICS which is a good thing. IF it has custom ROMs get it if not dont.

I would have to say if you aren't too knowledge able into the Background apps portion thats where the iPhone shines. One thing about the iPhone is it does have a better application sleep which basically removes it from the equation when you don't wanna use it.
I'd say it's up to you if the iPhone does what it needs to do i'd say keep it.
If you want to have better functionality or control with your phone then go with Android.

I'll probably just keep my iPhone. There's really no need to sidegrade, maybe even downgrade to a Bionic. If the Bionic has better battery life after the previous update then I might trade for it.

Not really....

Not sure if this is relevant, but I switched from an iPhone 4 to an HTC Vivid and the battery life is atrocious. I can barely eek out 12 hours on light usage.

Stick with the 4, my old iPhone 4 was like yours, heavy usage up to a day sometimes two

The iphone will get you better battery life hands down. But that still isn't worth it to me. Unless it's important to you that you get mobile apps deployed to your device first, I see no reason to not go with the bionic.

My biggest gripe with android is how frequently apps tend to crash on my phone. But apps crash all the time on my ipod touch, so it's not like one is better than the other there, at least not definitively.

I dont know how to say this but Smart Phone have a limit unlike TABs in things you can do. I can easily see myself using iPhone 4 for another 2 years. It does everything that all other Smart Phones can do. All these new phone just improve in speed and looks, screens which really make not much difference on things you can do. iPhone 4 has one of the best screens you could want, one of the best Battery life. It still very quick and doe snot really need a Dual Core to use it. I traded my ATRIX 4G for my iPhone 4 and i could not be happier.
