[Cheapo] Is Hyper EVO worth $13 more than Hyper Plus? Or pocket the cash?

Budget got tight so I'm going $30 sub cooling.

I realize the heatsinks are now connected and that makes it a bit cooler? I haven't seen any real world tests though.

The other note is that the EVO is a bit quieter? I can't imagine a real world difference though after it's in the case with everything else blowing fans?

I can get:

Hyper Plus for $20 + free shipping

or

Hyper Evo for $33 + free shipping

"Compatible with 1155" -Hyper 212
"Socket 1155" -2500k
It's compatible, and I've heard the Evo is worth it. I don't currently have the time to look up benchmarks.

Thanks..

Getting conflicting reports though.

Just found this -

So I'm going to bump that thread and see what's up.

EVO is a bit quieter at idle, a bit louder on full speed. EVO has heat pipes positioned together, so TIM application is easier. I personally don't find it worthy for extra $13 (although I did buy my EVO at $33).

The difference is mostly just the fan that has a higher CFM max potential. The base is also slightly different, but I really doubt it makes any impact.

There was a $4 difference from where I ordered, so I chose the Evo since it's newer and (imo) has a nicer looking fan =)
