Went From 1156 To 1155 And Now Can't Install Drivers.

I really don't know what the problem is. I was on the full release 11.11, And tryed to install 11.11b, and 11.11c and I always get the AMD video driver fail.

Now yesterday I was trying to install 12.1 drivers for 4 hours with no luck mad.gif Tryed to install 12.1 over the 11.11 drivers, And video driver fail. Then I uninstall the drivers tryed 12.1 again, Fail. So I uninstall and boot into safemode ran driversweeper witch I don't like to do, Then rebooted and tryed 12.1 again and it fails again wth.gif
Whats odd is everytime it fails and I reboot it shows I have 11.10 installed. So after all of that I pulled my 6970 and 9800GT removed all the drivers, And it still fails.

So I went and got the full release 11.12 drivers, And it installed first try mad.gif I should of left it at that, but I tryed to install the 12.1 over the 11.12 and the old AMD video driver fail came up after 15mins of it trying to install. And yes I have redownloaded the 12.1 drivers from 2 different web sites and I get the samething.

Whats odd is that now it shows that I have the 12.1 drivers even know it had the AMD video driver fail.

If anyone has any clues why im have so many problems let me know. I never had any problems when I had my i7 875K, Witch my brother has now and the 12.1 drivers installed first try over the 11.11c drivers that I couldn't install with my i7 2600K. I would like to not have to redo Windows 7 till I get my SSD around christmas.

Thanks for any help thumb.gif

You are on 2600K and you did not fresh install Win 7 and forgot to disable UAC?

If it was off it will stay off, it can't mysteriously turn itself on biggrin.gif

Isn't 11.12 the latest official version? Your problem(s) are more than likely due to buggy beta versions. Just stick with 11.12 since it works on the first try, while the others yield failure notices each time.

Also, it's a crap-shoot as to whether a previous windows install works properly on new system hardware (I'm talking about not doing a clean install after you switched to a new motherboard). I'd be 95% convinced that it's just buggy beta drivers causing the issue.

Well im still having no luck, I can't go back to 11.12. I installed 11.12 and I still get AMD video driver fail and when it restarts im still on 12.1. Im not sure why, It seems that uninstalling and using driversweeper is still not removing something.

It's looking like im going to have to redo windows sad-smiley-002.gif I have so much stuff that I use that I only wanted to have to do it once. Comcast is going to be pissed rolleyes.gif

Don't use Driver Sweeper for AMD cards, use instead ATIMan Uninstaller.
