140.3 rads

I am getting ready to purchase a Magnum case, probably the m10, and need some info to plan out all the components. My primary concern is whether or not I can use a 140.3 rad with the use of fan adapters. Basically would 3 of these http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11897/duc-51/BGears_140mm_to_120mm_Slim_Profile_Fan_Adapter_-_Black.html work with http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=59_457_458&products_id=31859.

Those adaptors are to use 140mm fans on a 120mm mount, so if your using 140mm fans why not just mount them to the rad normally?

The problem with those adapters is that they effectively change the fan spacing, so it won't fit any standard mount frown.gif They're really designed to adapt 120mm fans to a radiator, not to adapt a 420 radiator to a 360 mount.

that said, you could pressure mount the rads into the case (i dont personally like to, but it works well for some people) if you are using a pedestal... what i think would be the best option though would either to only put fans on 1 side of the rad (have other connect to case) or use ~30mm standoffs... also when u use those convertres make sure to seal between them and the fan... some small weather stripping works great smile.gif

I'm not using 140mm fans. The adapter works both ways. The idea was to use a 140.3 with the case's 120mm fan spacing.

Thank you very much for the quick reply. While looking around the forums today I saw that you are preparing a large single wide case, any idea on when that will be added to your main web page and available for order?

Thanks for your helpful suggestions, I'll probably either stick to rx360's or go with either the new single wide tower or a pedestal though.

It should already be up on the website. rolleyes.gif It's done, I just need to get one more run of prototype parts made to verify the changes and give production a green light thumb.gif I have to get some time on the equipment, but those pesky orders keep rolling it, and Santa says I have to give them priority biggrin.gif
