Mobo: H8QGi+-F
CPUs: 4 x 6174
CPU overclock: stock 2.2
Ram speeds: 1333 7-7-7-21 1.5v
Watts: 518
WU: 6903
TPF:14:09
PPD: 498k

WU: 6904
TPF: 19:17
PPD: 512k

This system is not overclocked yet, I'll update again when I do. I also just bought another 4p board and 4 x 6128s, I'll get you numbers when I get it going.

For those looking to get into a 4p rig, this is a great deal. He will accept $933 for two and $1000 for one.

More info here: http://www.supermicro.com/Aplus/system/2U/2042/AS-2042G-TRF.cfm

This is the older SM board, the one that fits with the 212+
It is also the more expensive version with more PCI-E slots
The board can be overclocked with a lot of work from the guys are [H]ardOCP
It comes with 4 passive heatsinks and 6 crazy powerful/loud fans
1400w Gold redundant power supply
A great SM case with hotswap drive bays
and a dvd drive

Essentially this is an awesome deal and if you are looking to get a 4p rig and a case to go with it, jump on this. (I bought two)

My parts for the 4p G34 finally arrived yesterday. The 2P Intel board that arrived had a bad second socket. So no luck here. Still waiting on the SR-2 and 2P G34 board.

Mobo: H8QGi+-F $711
CPUs: 4 x 6128 - $400 for the set.
CPU overclock: stock 2 ghz
Ram speeds: 1333-9-9-9

Right now I am having problems getting Ubuntu on this system. The Ubuntu install doesn't seem to find any hard drive attached to the board even though it is seen by the Bios, and Windows installers can find it. So because of the fold-a-thon going on I decided to say screw it and I put Windows 2008 R2 on the box. This installed without any issues at all. However the performance has been marginally better over my 2600k setups. You can look at the stats that I have linked in my sig. The power draw is around 450 watts right now from the wall. I didn't have time to take accurate readings from the kill-a-watt last night as I got everything installed and running around 10pm central.

Hopefully the SR-2, 2P G34, and 2P Intel replacement boards are on their way just so I can document everything in terms of price versus points as I wanted to do, but it just sucks getting bad parts and not having stuff show up on time.

If anyone has any tips or ideas on why both the Ubuntu 10.10 and 11.10 installers can't see the hard drive that would be appreciated. The 11.10 installer fails with ubi-partman failed with exit code 10 while the 10.10 installer just doesn't see any drives at all so I can't change the partitions.

I had no problems putting 11.10 on my 2600k1 setup but did have problems with it seeing all devices when trying to use 10.10. I went with Windows on 2600k2 just so people would be able to compare the operating system/cost ratio when I finally get everything done.

Have you given 10.04 a shot? Or even another distro like Linux Mint 10 LXDE?
