Sleeving power supply cable oddities

Hello all!

To all those that are more experienced, my question is - Are there certain power supplies that lend themselves better to sleeving than others? I mean in terms of aesthetics.

For example I came across these videos...

...where the gentleman had problems sleeving an AX1200 24 pin connector because some of the holes in the connector had missing wires (on purpose), some had double wires, and the wires were criss-crossed (meaning that the cable connected at one end didn't connect to same connector socket on the other end)

So he couldn't have all the cables lined up symmetrically or neatly end to end like this:

I am looking to purchase a new power supply and I plan to sleeve the cables and wondering if all power supplies exhibit the "problem" I described above.

Ideally I would like:

  • 1000 to 1300 watt power supply
  • FULLY modular (including the 24 pin cable)
  • black cables and black connectors (like on the Corsair AX1200)

Does such a thing exist?

Silverstone strider series is super easy to sleeve and make custom cables for. I have 4 of them and they're all bullet proof. Standard connects for the connection to the psu which is awesome. St1500 is the only psu I'll use from now on. Thermaltake 1275 and 1475 watt psus are quite similar in quality and ease of sleeving.

btw, you can fill all of the pin holes even if the manufacturer doesn't. They do that to save money so that they can use less pins. My silverstones came with 23 of the 24 on one side populated with one that split. I redid it with all 24 in and it works flawlessly.

Thanks for the tip. I'll look into the SILVERSTONE Strider Gold ST1200-G.

In your experience does the colored (yellow and red) cable bleed through MDPC sleeving?

It does not with MDPC and FTWpc sleeve. Cheaper sleeve it does. If you're sleeving you might as well make some custom cable lengths and connectors since molex cables are impossible to sleeve without cutting them or making new ones. All u need is some 18awg wire, crimps, and a crimping tool and ur g2g. The 1200g is awesome. Putting together a build for a friend tomo night with one. so far from the looks of the psu it lives up to the silverstone name
