Do new macs need special memory or just regular DDR3?

Would a brand new mac book pro take regular DDR3? or do i have to get something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233215

you will need to buy that brand/make macs use "SO-DIMM" DDR3 ram, 204 pins, most ram is 240 pin i believe.

EDIT: you should probably take your mac apart if you dont mind voiding warranty,and checking.

240pin is desktop, 204 is regular ddr3 laptop, so if thats what it needs then regular ddr3 for a laptop fits the bill.

Regular DDR3 is fine. Just make sure you get the right speed.

The new ones use DDR3-1333. I have 8Gbs of Corsair DDR3-1333 in my MBP and they work great!
