CaseLabs Merlin SM8 Update: [See New Thread: SM8 Product Launch] - Page 31

I can attest to the quality of DEMCIflex. Extremely high quality, easy to remove, and best customer service I've seen in a while other than CL. wink.gif

They custom make them as well, which is my plan.

stren, I also like your idea since I too am ugly. However, what happens when the air from each radiator blowing in clashes with the air from another radiator? And do you have the PSU blowing air into the case as well? Or do you still have it vent outwards?

I gave up on filters because my case is bit more complicated (TX10 + pedestal) - air flows in the bottom, but there are some gaps where air could come in other locations. Because of that I just figured I'd have to clean the rads anyway. I have steps in my study so I can't easily get the case outside. So the QDC's just give me an easy way to clean. Given that I have that, there wasn't really a need to add the filters smile.gif

xyelz - in my case the rads push air out, so there's no clash. Plus my rads are further spaced apart in the TX10 so there's less chance of interference. The PSU's exhaust air like normal too smile.gif

Thank you stren. I have decided to use the radiators as exhaust to reduce dust intake down there.

Right now I'm trying to decide what to do in the main chamber.

I was thinking of using AP-14s (1450 RPM) on the 3 front vents as intake and then 3 or 4 AP-15s (1850 RPM) on the 4 top vents as exhaust. I believe there will be a rear vent as well and I'm not sure if I should use this for something.

Thoughts on this? Should I use more powerful fans as intake or no?

On the bottom chamber, I believe there is a front vent as well. Should I keep this blocked off or should I use is as intake/exhaust?

If you're running filters you want to make sure that there is more intake than exhaust, i.e. maybe AP15's on the front and maybe AP14's on top. Otherwise the exhaust fans will suck in air from other holes in the case e.g gpu card slots and that air won't be filtered.

As for the front vent - it's up to you, I think there will be enough intake area in the base not to worry about it.

lot of you guys really like your filters....i have some that are built into my case but I dont think they do enough to really worry about personally. If you clean out your case atleast once a month I dont think its worth fussing over....however, if you are fussy like me you clean your case once a week.
lol I clean mine twice a year at best! biggrin.gif Any pic's of the merlin case yet?

Yeah I don't clean mine every week. It's too much of a hassle and I don't have the time. I'd say that I open it up every couple of months, however I have a very dusty room for some reason. I also have a cat. frown.gif
