CaseLabs Merlin SM8 Update: [See New Thread: SM8 Product Launch] - Page 61

I just don't think i can afford to buy two case labs cases within a 1-2 year period. Not with the shipping and taxation taken into consideration. Do you sell flat packed M8's? And if you do, how big is the box for it? (my dad is maybe going to Hawaii during the holiday season).

So wait, will the SM8 be able to fit a 400mm rad? or maybe the ST10?

I'm in dire need of a ~200 case that can fit one

The first generation cases (M8, M10, MH10, T10, and TH10) are not designed to be flat-packed - they ship fully assembled.

As far as upcoming cases are concerned, I like to share our ideas with the community and let them know what our road-map looks like. Some manufacturers don't, it's really comes down to what they believe is in their best interest. One thing you can be sure of though, everyone is always working on new designs, so it shouldn't be a disappointment that something new might be coming down the road. If it weren't, that company wouldn't last long wink.gif

I would love a case to just store drives and a power supply for eSATA/RAID configurations. Perhaps like an M8 but with drives on front, back, and both sides.

Are there existing solutions that live up to the CaseLabs quality? For example the double drive isolation...

Yeah, i know, and please don't misunderstand, the comment was meant in good spirit, because it is undoubtedly a luxury dilemma redface.gif It's just that i'd really like a replacement for my 800D, but with the constant scouting of this thread, the M8 just waiting to be bought and the vaporware like status of the Murderbox MKII, that dilemma is getting increasingly tough. Needless to say the announcement of the "Bullet" didn't make it any easier tongue.gif Especially not when i considered the U2-UFO over the M8, simply because of it's horizontal tray rolleyes.gif Make no mistake though, i applaud development, especially with innovators like you guys thumb.gif

I havent been following this thread from start to finish, but I did look over the first page so I really really apologize if these questions have been gone over already..

1) How is the launch date looking? Still on for September?
2) Any hints to price points?
3) Will many of Case Labs existing feature continue with the new line? Like fill windowed side panels and extended vented covers? (reasons why I am looking into Case Labs for my next case)

As I said above, I only just now read the first page and I havent had the time to comb through 60 pages.. so forgive me if these have been answered already.
Im just impatient and wondering if one of these bad boys will be my next case.

1) How is the launch date looking? Still on for September? Apparently yes, at least for the SM8. SM5 and the bigger one (ST10?) will come later in that order.
2) Any hints to price points? SM5 a bit over 300, SM8 around 350 bucks. That could mean that the big merlin is around the 400 mark.
3) Will many of Case Labs existing feature continue with the new line? Like fill windowed side panels and extended vented covers? (reasons why I am looking into Case Labs for my next case) Most of them will. I actually asked that a few pages back and extended top and pedestal will come, but not necessarily right at launch.

As I said above, I only just now read the first page and I havent had the time to comb through 60 pages.. so forgive me if these have been answered already.

Edited answers with bold.

A mATX M8 is what I wanted also. I didn't want the classic tower design, I like the cube design of CaseLab cases more.
Now that you've stated the SM5/8 prices will be within $50-100 of the M8, I'll consider buying a M8 instead.
