That's a great idea, but isn't it hard to make it sturdy enough considering that you could have 1kg worth of cpu cooler and a few gpu's hanging from the mobo?
But it's true that a removable mobo tray is very practical. Looking forward on seeing how you can cram tons of features in something midi-sized biggrin.gif

if you simpy use piano hinges yes it is very hard to make it sturdy, however if you use swing hinges (i think thats what they are called), then not at al... you can make the hinges support quite a lot of weight (the same hinges used on many upright piano tops, or the same set of hydrolics used on car hood shoud support quite a bit of weight as we smile.gif)

Hi Jim,

For the location I plan to position my case in the depth of the case (front to back) is key, which is where a case like the M8 at 20.06" (510mm) front to back is ideal.

Height and width are more flexible, so hopefully there will be a Merlin case that has a depth of around 45cm.

I've got an idea of how this could work, so please let me know if you would like me to upload a sketch?

Thanks
James

Thanks James - Never hurts to see more ideas thumb.gif For various manufacturing reasons, the envelope for the 1st case is 10.38" wide by approx 22" x 22" As always, it comes with the caveat: "don't bet the farm on it": wink.gif

I'm very interested in this case, but I hope it's shorter than the M8 i.e. only 2 120mm fans in the front.
Space at the top for a tripe rad would be fine, but 2 120mm fans would be fine also.

I would like a smallish cube design preferably 2x140mm fans at the top, front and bottom.

For the smallest of the merlins - an optional carrying handle would be awesome. Think this might have be covered before though
