2500k Overclock, CPU not overclocking properly?

Thread Starter
My 2500k use to run fine with an overclock at 4.6GHz but recently I've noticed a decrease in performance to see that it's maxing out at 3995.3MHz as shown here:
g4XHZ.png

Anyone know why this is happening? Is there something in the BIOs I need to fix/change?

Full specs:

If more info is needed please let me know.

Why is your bus speed 99.9? Should be 100.
99.9*40=3996
100.0*40=4000

Or are you saying your overclock from 4.6GHz dropped to 4.0 on its own?

It dropped to 4.0 on its own and nothing I do gets it back to 4.6

And I have no idea what the bus speed is at 99.9

Down to turbo power limits I suspect. Also try disabling spread spectrum, it should lock your bus speed to 100.

We need a little more info, like what mobo are you using and what settings are available to you in the BIOS.

Post screenshots of your BIOS.

I added my rig to my profile but it's not showing up at the bottom of my posts like yours are. Anyway this is my motherboard, ECS P67H2-A3.

I'll post pictures of the BIOS in a minute, as of earlier today I just put everything to their defaults.

Change Power Limit 1 Value (watt) from 95 to 150 and Power limit value 118 to 150 and that should stop any throttling.

Hope that helps thumb.gif

You have to change some setting in your profie settings under the signature part to show the rig there.

edit. In the second screenshot...
Why are the turbo ratio limits like that?
