bad cpu bottleneck on saints row 3. so basically the only thing the scheduler did in games is distributing the threads on lightly threaded apps to avoid sharing of resources that results to performance loss. not really the magic windows patch that people are saying but an increase is still an increase.

Serious Sam 3 included.

Also fixed some broken links.

Now I'll work on my students finals.

Hope I gave something back to a forum that always help me a ton.

Pax,
Alex.

Pax,
Alex.

Thanks!

It does make a difference, and like you said, it's free. Does close the gap a bit. If they fix the architecture with Piledriver, taking out the bad stuff and improving on the good stuff, we might have something like Prescott -> Northwood + Prescott's new instructions biggrin.gif.

Here, have some Rep for the good work!

Good luck with the students finals!

Nothing posted seems to show any real improvements. I was pretty skeptical that a scheduler change would have a huge impact on overall performance, especially in games.

disagree. they said imporvements up to 10% in games. 50 to 54 fps, for example, is just that.
I see it as an improvement, yes, and quite real.

Okay..

Now if only we can get someone with a 6990 on an Intel setup with a moderately high overclock to compare notes and GPU usage with.

Wonder how AMD is going to explain this 4C/8T now?
It's the way Windows 7 treats cores, but it doesn't mean that BD is a quad core.
It's a quad module with two cores per module that share resources.
Hyper-threading works differently.
