To wrap up, I ended up with an ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3. It's only SATA2 but that's fast enough, and I can always add a SATA3 expansion card. I ended up getting a new case and some extra fans, so all told, my build is closer to $400 (but still no discrete graphics card). Thanks to everyone for help and suggestions.
