Yep. Lets let the redundancey of my post be golden!!

Just more RAM and a New GPU. That processor is still good for a while still and will still give you a few years to upgrade.

6GB (3x2GB) G.SKILL DDR3 1600 CL9 MEMORY - $35!!!!

MSI HD 6950 Twin Frozr II 2GB - $210 shipped!!!

Thats leaves room in a $300 budget for that Hyper 212+ Evo on Newegg or $33.99. Or even a Used H60 in the marketplace for $55.

IM going to go with the graphic card you suggested because my friend has also suggested that as well. Should i go with 16gb of RAM instead of the 8? or will that not work on my unit?

I wouldn't even bother with ram. 4GB of ram is all you need for any game out there. I have 4GB of ram and it served me fine for anything I have thrown at it. Including BF3 which is retarded because it makes you load a browser while gaming, so that will take up even more ram.

Put all your money on the video card. Even that extra $35-40 for 8GB ram kit can get you to the next level of video cards when you find the right deal. For example from a HD 6950 1GB / GTX 560 Ti to a HD 6950 2GB/ GTX 560 Ti 448 core

If you plan on the GTX 570, I rather grab the GTX 560 Ti 448 core version for $40-50 less. It might perform a tad bit slower, but nothing that $50 worth. At $280 its one of the best deals out there right now.

Apparently you did not read my post. That 6850 IS a 2GB version. More RAM won't hurt you. Even though the kit I linked is only 6GB kit its still ample. 4GB is good, 6GB is beter, 8GB+ best. Better safe than sorry.

the 6gb 3x2 will not work well....it's a dual channel cpu so the 3rd stick will actually hinder performance.....also with that cpu anything over 8gb of ram will be hard to overclock smile.gif
best to go with 2x4gb

it,s more strain on IMC so it probably won't clock as high as 4gb will...you can loosen timings to get higher clocks but at some point your better with lower clocks and tighter timings for best perfromance...of course the better the ram the better the chances but in general 8gb won't clock as high as 4gb let alone 16gb...but if you will be using that much ram then just get the best you can afford and hope for the best....this only matters for overclocking...it will run at 1333 no problem..1600 with 16gb will be pushing it....8gb you should be able to hit 1600 without alot of headaches... especially true of deneb ...thuban does a little better
