BenQ XL2420T available January 18th - Page 11

In the pdf manual at the "Picture menu(brightness/contrast/sharpness/black equalizer/gamma/color temperature/hue/saturation)" it says:
Quote:
Available menu options may vary depending on the input sources, functions and settings. Menu
options that are not available will become grayed out. And keys that are not available will be
disabled and the corresponding OSD icons will disappear.

What type of source do you need to use to get those to work?

(xl2420t) I'm using DVI dual link and saturation and hue are greyed for every mode. Maybe those will help as I have a feeling that there's white fog all over the screen. Best what I can come up with my eyes and the monitor test is with brigtness 0 and contrast 0... Also feels like black equalizer is somewhat on for standard (where you can actually tweak colors) and you can't adjust it.

I believe is you're running in 120hz it disables some options. More options are then disabled when 3D mode is active.at least that's how it was on my v3d245

hmm, think the power button stopped working... Managed to use it only once during last night then...

It definitely notices my hand, but just doesn't want to shutdown anymore.

Edit: started working when I pushed it very hard : ) Bad to have touch-screen power off ><

Anxious to read some more reviews before I make my purchase; I've heard both bad and good. If any of you guys have the monitor atm, opinions would be greatly appreciated!

After trying many 120hz monitors including: 1x ASUS VG278H, 2x Samsung S27A950D, and
having nothing but problems, I finally found my monitor.
My XL2420T came with zero dead/stuck pixles, no backlight bleed, and perfect backlight uniformity!
The matte finish does not bother me one bit. The whites look great and at the very least, the colors
look much better than my older TN panel.
I'm no graphics designer and I don't own any IPS screens so I can't really comment on the color accuracy,
but this is fine with me.

The stand is brilliant and is one of the main reasons I chose this monitor.
Height adjustment is underrated by too many people IMO.
The little remote makes it very easy to save settings and switch between different modes
on the fly (FPS gaming mode to movie mode, etc.)

All in all, if you don't care for IPS type monitors and you are generally concerned with gaming and
practical design, I can't recommend this monitor enough. Go buy it!
If anyone can post some of their calibrated settings that would be cool.

So, I received this monitor, the black eQualizer is great, the 120hz is also great, mouse is very smooth now, not laggy. I did not get a chance to play any games until tonight, but I LOVE this monitor, it looks great and is high quality. No issues by the way, no backlight, no issues at all! I love the touchscreen buttons too, very amazing monitor.

Would you say grays look a bit off? I ONLY notice this when looking at webpages and icons and its only noticable in the upper left hand corner for me. Almost looks pixilated. Might have to work out an exchange

No mate, colours do not look pixelated. What mode are you using?
How would you describe the blacks? The most concerning thing I've heard so far about the monitor is that the black equalizer mode seems to always be on; could you confirm this? Even if the setting is off (can it be turned off?), do blacks seem washed out?

Thanks!

I have my settings to 0 brightness and 0 contrast and it's still slightly brighter than my old syncmaster 226bw with 60 brightness and 60 contrast.

But no issues on gaming. Black equalizer is like a cheat for fps : )

Used these tests:
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php Can see all just fine.
http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/white.php 254 is, quite difficult, but I can see... something, or maybe it's my brain messing me to see something.
