GTX 570 glitching! Please HELP! *SOLVED*

Thread Starter
Hi all,

I have a completely stock GTX 570 running nvidia beta 290.36 drivers. It was running without a problem for a long time. However I started noticing triangles in the games that i play. These triangles first appeared about 3 months ago. But since then the problem has started to grow. when i ran Heaven Benchmark 2.5 i was getting blue and red star like things popping up on the screen at the start and i thought that was odd. Then about 1/3 into the benchmark I had large blank black spots appearing. I highly doubt this is meant to happen. Any help is much appreciated!

Did you check the temps? Also try WHQL drivers.

Artifacts on the screen usually indicate driver issues or the card is overheating or even faulty (but if it was fine previously then the latter is unlikely).

Monitor the temperatures for a while and remove the beta drivers and install a stable release.

The temps max out at 58 Celsius. The reason I am using the beta drivers is because the WHQL drivers were crashing far too often.

Man im wondering if its the card. If its under warranty I would get it replaced. If not you might want to try adding a little more voltage to it using msi afterburner but you shouldnt need to do that on a non-overclocked card.

have you overclocked anything AT all? have u ever overclocked anything at all? try switching back to the stable release drivers, the whql ones and performing a clean install of drivers. often when your card is overclocked too much, artefacts occur quite often, if you can try underclocking, and see if the artefacts are still occuring. if they still appear, i believe ur card maybe a little faulty

The WHQL drivers crashing a lot surprises me considering the beta are theoretically more unstable than them for obvious reasons.
Perhaps the card has always had an issue that has compounded over its time in use.

You could try reseating the card. It can be a hardware conflict (i had problems with my audigy SE + gtx 460 + onboard sound enabled). WHQL drvrs shouldn't crash on stock cards unless there is a problem, try using a driver cleaner and reinstall stable drivers. If nothing works then your card is probably faulty.
