Power Phase when selecting a motherboard?

Thread Starter
Hi there,

I'm looking for a mobo for 2500K! I read that you should avoid 4+1 power design mobos if you want to overclock. I tried to find out why this is or what this means but couldn't come up with anything. Anyone care to explain? So if I wanted to choose a motherboard with overclocking in mind - what numbers should I be paying attention to? 12+2? 8+2? I was looking at a Asus P8P67 which is 12+2. I aplogize for the novice question!

Thank you

Get the Z68 Fatal1ty, what I am getting and most of my friends. Trust me you can't go wrong with that board! thumb.gif

I would go for 12+2 if I was a bit low on cash.
