Just bought a soundcard..

Thread Starter
Well, I thought it was time to buy a sound card. I'm a total noob to them, and never had one before in all my years of computer building. I was also having problems with BF3 and realtek like everybody else, and it was just another excuse to get another goodie (;. I went and bought a Asus xonar DX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...Tpk=xonar%20dx

Anybody have this and want to give some input on it? I thought it was a pretty good buy compared to everything else.

Oh I forgot to add, I have a razer characias headphones, and Logitech X-530 5.1.

I have Xonar D1, the PCI version of DX. Overall I say it is pretty good. Sound has more detail and clarity compared to onboard Realtek, and this is coming from a cheapo Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker.

yup i bought the same card for $10 (after rebate) just installed it and works well, I really like the bass, I am using a 2.1 Creative speaker system and it sounds real good. 96 Khz flac files sound very rich and deep and SKYRIM and BF 3 sound very good as well.

for the price, its a great card. Many people prefer ASUS XONAR Unified Drivers 1.50 to the asus drivers. enjoy your new card!
