What sort of speakers work well with a laptop? Just for better music listening on the laptop, any suggestions?

anything by logitech, almost everything they make speakerwise is decent, just pick a model by size and your price range.

Yeah I have Logitech X-530 5.1 speakers, and couldn't be happier with them. So will any 2.1 speaker set work with a laptop? Or do laptops have to use lousy usb speakers or something like that?

Hmm my buddy told me that 2.1 speakers dont have seperate bass plugs like my 5.1 set. Now the confusion has cleared. I guess 2.1 sets would work with a laptop.

Usually a laptop will have a headphone jack or something on along the front. You just plug it in there, unless you've got a really outdated laptop or something. Then you may have to look at usb sets.

Thank you kimon. Thats basically what my friend told me. I wasn't sure how 2.1 setups worked, as I've only owned 2.0 and 5.1. I assumed they worked like 5.1 setups but in reality they're like 2.0 with an extra cord that attatches to the bass from the speakers. Thank you again kimon for actually answering my first post.

I use the Audigy2 ZS notebook card with a 2.1 pair of creatives I have had since time began. It works pretty well, but it much better with headphones.
