actually theres a board running the rd600 chipset with conroe
http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/93...600/index.html

so if one board has it, then i seriously doubt dfi wont have a board before the end of the year with the rd600 chipset or the xpress 3200 Intel chipset as its otherwise know as
Thanx for the link, I've not seen that one.

Nope....the 975 and 965 are still the best bet for Conroe (and any Intel really). The NVIDIA chipsets are terrible overclockers

Currently, yes.
Later, possibly not.
I guess both ATi's new and the 590 will overclock pretty much like the current 965+975's

nope the ati's rd600 chipset is supposed to be able to surpass or match the intel chipsets and completely thrashes the nvidia chipset's , but thats not that hard really lol

And yes. And unfortunately, the 975x cannot support Nvidia SLI properly, and so one will never be able to combine the fastest video card system with the fastest cpu. And no, the X1950XTX Crossfire is not as powerful as the Quad SLI 7950GX2. And the 85.96 modded driver cannot support Quad SLI, much to my chagrin.

It's the other way around. And it's always been.
You seem to be too young to understand Athlon XP vs P4 and/or Athlon vs PIII. Also early Northwoods which later became Prescott, which it seems as if you think Prescott is the first CPU release by Intel. And BTW, if it wasn't for IBM and Intel, you would have never known what AMD is. Nevertheless, if it wasn't for AMD, We would have never known what a Core 2 Duo CPU is.

LanParty was cancelled for Intel, so not going to happen.
In a way, he is correct but we're yet to see DFI releasing the ATI RD600 board, as they for a fact stopped production of the LanParty nForce 590 SLI-IE motherboard because of the horrible overclocking performance.

They might be in AMD land but in Intel, DFI is one of the worst when it comes to support for the (Intel base) motherboard, not to mention that they always end up costing a heck of a lot more than (#1 best MoBos for Intel) ASUS's.

About that artitcle, I don't see numbers I haven't seen done with a P965 or 975X........onequestion will remain though, will the RD600 be as stable as Intel's own Core Logics? If indeed the RD600 were to be released?

I really don't think so, the 590 sporting the same nForce 4 was again another flop, the real 590 Northbridge (C51)? I still really don't think it's going to be a mean overclocking S.O.B. like the P965 or 975X.

Not hard? I guess history hasn't tought you anything about VIA and SiS and also nForce but ATI's RD600 able to surpass Intel's own? I don't think they're going to be able to even come close to Intel's.

The 975X could and the minute nVidia releases SLI drivers for 975x, the nForce chispet for Intel will just go down the drain and it will be nothing more than just another failed product that try but it never could. That is why nVidia won't release drivers for Intel, specially now with Conroe.
And there's not a single game that an X1950XTX or 7950GX2 can't handle, if anyone is going to spend another $500 for a mere bragging right? They're in their own right to brag but $500 to do that is just plain stupid.

For people who started to build AMD since the Prescott days, I'm pretty sure you don't know this but when it comes to Intel systems, it's best to leave it to Intel chipsets. They're 2nd to none for everything an Intel system should be.

Are you willing to run out and spend $200+ on a board based on speculation? I know I am not. Time will tell, maybe the true 590s will be good overclockers......but I am a student of history, and I watch past trends to get an idea of future ones, and nothing I see in the past or present make me think the true 590s will be able to take on the 965 and 975.
