Xpertvision x850xt agp have NO temp chip? - Page 2

I should try an XTPE bios flash, maybe it will trick the card into thinking its an XTPE and enable the sensor in the core. All GPU's should have some sort of thermal sensor embedded as the shut down once the reach their throttle, right?

Tried the omega 6.7, that didn't give me temps but seems stable, i might run them for a while and see how they go, thanks. Still got the no temp monitoring issue though.

Those solder joints are for the ati rage theater chip that the x850xtpe has, my card has it also its because they use the same pcb with different configs

have you tried a different version of ati tool? in ati toll is there not an option to enable temp monitoring? i would check for you but im not at home

Yeh no matter what version tool i try the logs all say the same thing, no temperature chip detected, if i cant find a fix i may have to monitor via an external temp probe (not as accurate) jammed in as close to the gpu as possible, touching te HS copper and the add 10-15 deg to the reading i take.
