Corsair H100. Its pump is the loudest thing in my case. Constant grinding noise, very similar to an old HDD access noise. The only option is to put my case on its "belly" to reduce it.

G.Skill Sniper 1333 2x4 kit. I had some 2x2 ripjaws @1600 that could overclock like crazy, but I sold them and grabbed my buddies kit of Snipers when they were maybe 2 weeks old. I wanted 8gigs and I got it, but they will not allow me to overclock my old 955 back to 4.2 or my new 3570k past 4.5 while both have plenty of headroom. The ram won't run at anything but 1333 at stock timings. I can't loosen timings or change the bandwidth or anything. It is quite a pain to have to manually set all my timings to stock also because windows will crash at auto also. That being said I have a kit of 2x8 1866 coming and I still love G.Skill.

Foxconn mobo, only had problems with it. I've never bought a cheap motherboard since

Haven't really had any bad purchases... the worst one I've had so far was an Antec HCG-750, where I got one where the 8-pin CPU connector wouldn't stay in the socket, kept jarring loose. RMA went great, however, and the replacement works flawlessly.

Another bad purchase might be choosing a FX-8150 over Intel's Core i7 2600k. Then again, I wanted an AMD/AMD/AMD rig, AMD CPU, AMD GPU, AMD chipset. Heh...

my older Q9300 rig. at the time of purchase, dad thought a prebuilt was better for warranty reasons, even though i was with him while purchasing, he didnt believe me, and the sonofa... seller at our local electronics store said "yes buy this it is better than any custom" while he meant "yes buy this you will make me more richer for crappier hardware" and so we bought it. the cpu was beyond awesome, and is still in dad's company, but the specs sucked. some random branded 400w psu, 4gb el cheapo ram, el cheapo MSI G31 board, and a msi hd4650 im using because of monetary issues, im too cheap to buy a good gpu, and dad doesnt like used stuff. my second worst purchase was the P3 machine (cant even call it a rig lol). i bought it from a garage sale for $20, and had xp pro, no SP's. i was thinking of a download box, but it is very VERY slow, doesnt recognize my hdds etc. a working $20 machine, so i cant complain much.

Sparkle 7600 GS 512MB. Worst budget card ever. Granted, I only paid $60 for it when I bought it, but it was a terribly designed card. Passive heatsink that would cause the card to artifact and overheat in HL2, severely underclocked memory and core, trying to bring that past reference speeds caused lockups and driver crashes, and the best part: this card came with absolutely NO TIM between the heatsink/GPU.

Radeon 7000 VE 64MB DDR PCI. This card was created to be a desktop card and not for playing games. No HW TnL, poor performance, and more expensive than my faster Voodoo 3 2000. Granted, it was my mistake for not researching the card, but a bad purchase nonetheless.

Athlon II X3 425. This was actually a good CPU for the money. I only paid $90 for it and for $90 (2 years ago) it did whatever I needed it to do. However, once I started overclocking it, this thing was a nightmare. No matter what, I could not get it past 2.8GHz stable. In fact, it was so leaky, that overvolting it slightly, even on stock speeds, would cause BSODs and crashes galore. To get it stable at 2.8GHz, I actually had to undervolt it slightly. Worst overclocking chip ever.

Raidmax smilodon, bunch of loud 120mm fans from edbay, AS5, 999999999-in-1 card reader with floppy drive (forthe first 5 months of windows 7, it was unrecognized by the system, and the floppy drive needed a floppy connector..which my new motherboard didnt have...) 92mm cpu cooler instead of 120mm, bunch of lowly psu that either burned out , or sounded like a jet taking off, 2 80mm fans to replace my noisy 560ti palit fans (they performed worse) asus EEEpc 1000ha (too slow to check emails) ...the list goes on tongue.gif
