My Corsair Vengeance RAM. Works fine, but doesn't OC worth a damn. Can't get anything stable on it past stock even with extra voltage. Not even a tighter timing. And my $3 red mousepad that was cracked in half when I got it. But it was $3, and I'm still using it till I find one I like that matches my rig.

ATI All In Wonder X800 XT

The thing would just overheat and shutoff...

Brand new in box too. Ridiculous.

VERY BAD LINE OF CARDS... Turns out it was a common problem with these cards.

My Raidmax Smilodon was... okay. Once I bought extra fans from SilenX and Scythe and did some grinding and cutting on some of the excess metal the case worked quite well.

One of the capacitors in the Raidmax PSU disintegrated/exploded, and fried my mobo and CPU. It looks like there was arcing between the heat sink and the capacitor, and the fuse never tripped.

I'm using an Antec 900 now, and while it is a tight fit since I'm using aftermarket fans (as well as a giant Zalman heat sink), the cooling seems quite nice, even while attempting to overclock (see below).

My MSI 870A Fuzion board has to get my vote for the worst piece of hardware I've bought to date. It gives me Hyper Transport Sync Flood Errors, even at stock settings and doing nothing but web browsing. It was so problematic, I had to join Overclock.net just to figure out what part of my system was giving me so much grief.

Now I'm just waiting for the holidays before having "y'all" help me make sure I don't make mistakes like this any more. My skill/luck with PC parts is obviously lacking.

My worst purchase ever was a Sandisk 120GB SSD, one of the SATA II ones. The first one died after about 2 hours of use, the replacement died after 2 days and the third one died after 2 weeks. The fourth one (I still use it) is running fine for now but we'll see.

It would have to be some BFG 8800GT gpu's I bought. They ran so hot while folding I bought an extra HSF and VRM heatsinks for both cards.I put 45.00 into each 45.00 card. Not my best move. One even died on me (I can use it with Linux but no folding).

Mine blew my CPU. The MSI mobo bricked the chip. I RMA'd both mobo & CPU though, buying an ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0. drool.gif

Are we supposed to cry about "bad" products, or good products that just happened to have been bad; i.e. In need of an RMA? I see both.

If it's the latter, the first XFX 8800gt I got ran 90° C, right off the bat. RMAed to Newegg and the new one worked fine.Other than that, I think I've been lucky, or just good at researching before I buy.
