WORST PC PARTS ever! (please list your worst purchases and why lol) - Page 9

An Intel X48BT2 board, it couldn't overclock to save it's life (don't know what I was thinking). "Downgraded" to an Asus X38 board that's still working fine to this day.

Corsair Value Select memory for a laptop upgrade. First purchase had a faulty module, replacement arrived completely DOA.

Bought a x1650pro 512mb agp.
when i installed it, it booted fine, but the drivers, oh my dear god, they just wouldn't work on the system, after 2 days of hard work, clean instals, and driver installing and whatsoever, i switched it out for a HD2600pro.
the 2600pro is actualy doing fine in my friends rig years later now.

I ended up shocking my HD 4850. :C

Ever since then, I've hated applying TIM.

2x Seagate 7200.11 500GB HDDs. Garbage, both of them. Ran me ~$100 apiece at the time (iirc) and lasted about 9 months - just long enough for me to trust them with some dataz, and then BOOM. Megagigabyte death. Thank god for my ubuntu server's backups.

Not really a PC part, but my AT&T DSL (and now U-verse) Internet connection. Expensive, poor reliability, and S......L........O...........................W. You'd think in a city of 200k we'd have better options.

Rosewill 8P8* cable stripper and crimper. Non-adjustable blade; sliced through the shield great -- and then some of the TPs, too. FAIL.

All other Rosewill pieces of poo. Can't recall what else specifically now, but *worst* QC I've ever seen.

Intel HSF for my first processor. I know, I know. Major noob at the time... hate those clamp-down HSFs to this day, and it was garbage.

Some fan controller by Ultra - it was great! for about 2 months. Then the backlight started flickering, then it died, then all my fans started running full blast no matter what I set them at. Trash bin, kthxbai.

All cold cathodes I've ever bought from a variety of manufacturers. Maybe I should just expect this by now, but they all fade and die a little too quickly for my taste. Waste of $ to maintain, at this point.

Antec 300, imo looks nice big enough for my needs but no cable management ability at all without modding the case for holes.
