partition recovery

Thread Starter
I used a program, partition magic I think, to split my storage partition on 2, but something went wrong so windows don't show my D: disk anymore. Do you know of a free software that can recover the partition? I used Active@ recovery and it correctly displays all files, but I cannot recover with it.

Tnx

You can try Recuva

Before that try

windowKey+r (to open run box) type diskmgmt.msc press enter

then right click on the partition that isn't showing up and try Change, Drive letter and path sometimes they don't get assigned one after a format or partition layout change

see if it comes up in My Computer then

do not work :/

diskmgmt gives me some stupid error, console needs to be refreshed or something that makes no sense.

Recuva is for file recovery, not partition :/

Did you even try it before blowing it off? See below

Unless it will only read from something with an assigned drive letter

this. I am not a noob. I have tried 3-4 tools by now and they can usually see files just fine, but none can assign a letter to the partition :/

Is there a tool maybe that I can use to copy files from that partition? There must be...
