Nice works on getting the holes right, Riley. I just wonder if you could lend me the CAD files in googlesketchup - just for motherboard tray - I was working on it but I cannot get the measurement done because I was using it!!!

I need to figure to drill the right holes with precise measurements.

In the great scheme of the desk it wasn't too bad, it was 25 dollars for the backplate and 30 to ship it, still cheaper than most ways to get a ten slot backplate smile.gif

I used the blank motherboard model found on here, this site is amazing, can't recommend it enough. If you work in inches motherboard sizes are quite straightforward, metric isn't such fun though frown.gif

More XL-ATX offerings.

If you mean an HPTX (SR2/SR3)), very few and they cost a ton.

That's an HPTX compliant case. Xigmatek offers a $200 case that fits the SR2-SR3:

Mountainmods make a motherboard tray that fits an SR-2 and similar that I looked at for a bit but then I made mine and used the backplate, worked out simpler for this design.

So I thought I'd throw up a quick update before I disappear for new year I've been finishing off the legs today, as the metal rod for the attachment arrived a few days ago.

After the weekend I should be powering ahead with the frame as I now have a time restraint on the use of the workshop, but I'll explain that one at the end smile.gif

Righty, today saw the lathe coming out to play, everyone, meet the little lathe...

MY9Vi.jpg

half a leg base and the bar to fit into it

The best part of using a lathe, it makes finishes like this take about 30 seconds

and add the little feet smile.gif

WEzy3.jpg

I'll be finishing the bars next week smile.gif

The reason why I need to stop faffing about; My Dad (proud owner of this workshop) is building a 4 inch scale traction engine, he hasn't been able to carry on with it as he's been waiting for a casting...

The cylinder block, so he needs me to get off the milling machine and clean all the aluminium off it so he can start work on this tongue.gif

Happy New Year !
