I have the same MB/CPU with stock cooling, Im going to Compusa to buy a better Fan after the football game.

I am at 2.7ghz stable right now, but I did up the CPU voltage to 1.38, Intel TAT says Im at 56 to 60C running, system has been very stable but I'd like to bring that temp down and oc more, my goal is to hit 3ghz stable at decent temps which is what Im hoping the fan Im going to buy today will do.

Little run down on what to disable to get past 300Mhz...

DISABLE:

CIE
EIST
Virtual Technology
No-Execute Memory Protect
Overvoltage Protect
Spread-Spectrum
SPD

CHANGE:

MCH - +0.2v
FSB - +0.2v
DRAM/DIMM 2.1V
PCI-E 100Mhz

Also disable any other stuff you dont use such as USB HDD floppy drive etc etc. You should with these settings be able to hit 3.0GHz+ on stock voltage.

Im at 400x8 3.2GHz 4-4-4-12 using these settings... Have not tried higher yet.

RAM SPD is still on Auto the only changed made to RAM are timmings...

I use Super PI and then I do a 100% CPU burn in on both cores using BurnIn Test Pro 5 which takes about 15mins to complete but can be set to do a couple of hours.

I'm running at 3.08 at stock voltages, so perhaps experiment with lowering voltages in order to lower your temps..

You only need to up your (G)MCH +0.1v, I didn't raise my FSB Voltage and I did raise the DIMM Voltage and PCI-E to 100MHz, Try that.

MCH - +0.1v
DRAM/DIMM - +0.3v
PCI-E - 100Mhz

With those settings I got 3.01GHz Stock CPU Voltage.

I have attached 3 images of my BIOS... This may help show you what to set and have disabled.

Also make sure you have BIOS F4 or above... If you dont get one HERE
Before you update BIOS make sure everything is set to defaul so just use the Default selection at the start of BIOS.

How did you update your BIOS? Through Windows or with a floppy.

Becuase I REALLY Don't want to setup my floppy drive.
