Broadband Issue

Thread Starter
My net is acting up lately and i was wondering if anyone could give me any ideas on whats going on:

Basically, everyday between 2 and 7 it acts up by which i mean the modem either wont connect or goes on and off.

I rang NTL and they are sending someone out next week, but i dont get how its my end that is having the problem if its having a routine.

any one else have this issue ever?

What are the lights acting like on the front of your modem?.....sounds like it might be going out of sync...We had this a while back after upgrading to 10mb....We got a new modem and then a week later it started happening again, turns out NTL hadn't linked the billing account to the broadband account and even though NTL accepted we were paying every month the broadband account didn't recognise this so automatically cut us off. Grrr.

Make sure you get the engineer to stick around for a bit after he's changed the modem, and call customer support to check that the sync isn't intermittent.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention I hate NTL with a passion, most useless company in the world.....roll on Be broadband when they extend the areas it's available.......umm, 24mb.

Maybe it is because you are on a share contention, and there is somebody downloading like mad in your area at that those times stealing all your bandwidth
The same thing used to happen to me until I changed me service provider, so that I was on a 1:1 contention

My internet company tells me that you can get disconnected at peak times because your signal isnt good enough. I've heard those are lies but who knows...

If their coming out have them test your signal to your modem and make sure its a really good signal if not make them rewire it! lol.
