Sapphire X800GT AGP

Thread Starter
Lo ppl was just wondering if the X800GT AGP with a R420 core can be flashed to gain better clock speeds,i know it wont unlock any extra pipes as they are locked to 8 pipelinesbut i might get better performance from flashing

Any performance increase would be simply by raising the overclock of the card and can be accomplished with ATi Tool rather than a flash. If you wish, once you have found your maximum stable overclock, you can flash that Core and Memory clock to the Video BIOS. If you had the R423 core there might be possible mods but not with the R420 from my experience. I have heard others say that they have unlocked pipes on 420 but the three I have worked on did not. Volt mods and overclocks are the methods to look at with your card.

I wouldn't though as it is far simpler to run the card clocked higher via software but that is a personal choice.

Atitool is the way to go.

You can set it to startup in the registry, load the selected profile(clocks/fans) and then close.
