x1650 Crossfire Question - Page 2

Ok

I am sure there are enough nVidia users out here who can help you!

Replacing the mobo with an xPress3200 board and the GPU with an X1900GT will bump u[ the price a little, but not that much. Given the strength of xPress3200 on the 939 platform, it's likely to be ok on AM2 also; just havent seen the benchies yet

Good luck

if you do stick with the x1650's you might wanna get new coolers which would also raise the price... the coolers on there look pretty wimpy!

I would get a couple of these actually, they are a little cheaper then the x1650 and clocked to about the same speed. So far I have gotten two of these thru rebates so far. The first one was $80 and the second one was $77. I say great price for a low end xfire system that plays what I play (fear and Hitman).

Also Chozart so far you are right I have about a 1000 increase in benchmarking, will do a full on test tonight.

Dude, whatever you budget is, I'm gonna give you my honestest oppinion: do not buy that mobo. I'm searching for a AM2 mobo myself I would have prefered to be an ATI Crossfire, but what I found about this mobo is really worrying. It does not have the possibility to adjust anything with the memory, not even CAS or Command rate (1T/2T thing), has lousy mem compatibility and it does not OC higher than 220HTT.
I have little idea about the price, but I suppose it's gonna be around the 130$ mark: MSI K9A PLATINUM
It's worth saving a couple bucks for that. Apart from this it seems to be a nice rig and I hope you'll enjoy it. Cheers!
