So whats wrong with your setup? I have the same mobo, but the 6400 and a 7900 gt ko and it plays awsome. If yours is working them why change?

naturalite: because he's building a new rig for his friend?

Devilphalanx:
You didn't mention if your friend didn't like your setup (graphic & mobo-wise) because of the brand or the model
Is your friend's new rig going to be overclocked as well? And need EVERYTHING? (mouse, monitor, keyboard, etc)

Anyways, quick answers.
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 The Quad cooling looks really nice, can't vouch for the cooling performance of it tho But if I have to switch mobo, I'll probably try this one

VGA: ATI RADEON X1950XTX - GDDR4
or
ATI RADEON X1900XTX - XTX, better cooling performance than the previous X1900 series, but imho paying a little more to get GDDR4 is probably worth it.
