Well see it doesnt even act like its booting from any thing. I set it to boot from CD only and it brings me to the same black screen and says "Operating system not found" Thats all I ever get from it. Same thing with floppy disc.

Check all power and data connections to HD's and optical drives. Then, if she is running more than 1 stick of ram, pull one of the sticks out and try booting with only one.

If none of the above works, try resetting CMOS. Boot back into bios and see if your HD and optical drive(s) show up.

Problem solved. It seems I had a lose connection to the floppy drive. I went back in and set the floppy to first boot device and now I get a blue setup screen for windows. Thanks alot Xavier and everyone else.

Ok I ran into a little problem. During the installation its asking me to insert windows xp profesional service pack 1 cd. All I have is the windows xp profesional cd. Do I need to make the startup floppy disc xp pro with service pack 1, because currently they arent.

you might need a new cd drive
try one you have laying around
and in the bios set the "boot dection delay" to six seconds[helps in booting from slow devices like cd drives]

Ok I changed the cd drive and put another in it. Same thing, asks for a service pack 1 cd. Is there somewhere I can get a service pack 1 cd? Or does this have to do with using service pack 1 startup floppy discs?
