Defo will look into this one.

It doesn't have DC to DC minor rail conversion modules(it's a value unit) but offers brilliant regulation and behaves as a high end unit when crossloaded.. and is a lot cheaper than the XT x75 units.. it is a little noisy at high loads and efficiency isn't brilliant either but you can't have it all at this price.. regulation and ripple suppression wise it's the best value unit on the market.

Alright, i've learned alot from this thread, and i will consider this to the XT x75 units, and see what i want to do when my new case arrives.

If i was doing it, I'd probably throw an AX1200 at it and call it a day.

If i was doing it, I'd probably throw an AX1200 at it and call it a day.

I see but 900Watts is cutting it close, also they are benchmarking, and not pushing it for longer periods of time.
Another thing, they probably wont run 4 harddrive,s 20 fans, 2 water pumps and 2 fan controllers and some cathodes on their test system.

Nevertheless i will try to run the 6990 and the 6970's on the 1kW unit, but to be safe i will porbably add another psu later on.

What do you guys think about using a Coolermaster Realpower M620 as a 2nd power supply ?

and then i will just get a Corsair CX430 to power my old machine : Q9450, 3x ddr2 stick, HD4870. 3 HDD's and 1 dvd drive.
what you think about this ?

a 1200W supply puts out 34% more power than the 900W draw they were showing. a 1500W model (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256054) would put out 67% more power than the 900W draw (I defy you to draw that much DC power without sub-ambient cooling). given these are readily available (it's an 8 rail powersupply, to help prevent your house from burning to the ground should something go wrong), I don't see the benefit of tying in a second powersupply. An additional powersupply will reduce system efficiency noticeably.

If what you really want is validation that the dual PSU idea is good, just do it. I don't see the benefits - unless you're using a redundant PSU, which you're not.

I have totaly no clue about what your saying here about sub ambient cooling.
and my house wont burn to the ground as the max power from a wall outlet is 3.66kW here in europe. thats 230v on 16A.

and efficiancy isnt what im looking for, im looking for somethat that will definitly power my system without any stress.

This should be able to handle it with no stress, at least on the powersupply:
15565.K1297_4.jpg

The Vmax and Vripple might not be what you're looking for though. Also, electrical codes typically don't let you pull max current, so 16A isn't a continuous rating - that's probably around 13-14A.

Using anything puts stress on it. that's just daft. Even those magical solid capacitors aren't invincible.

Thread Starter
lol, tbh im not looking for anything your talking about right now, my system wont evne be using more then 1200w in total, and your sayingi need to blow money on something i dont even know what it is or what it does.
are you sure you are replying into the right thread ?

and if the continuous rating would be 13A x230v = 2990Watts in total. so i dont need something like what you are saying. i just want to know,
if this woould be a good idea :
(thus i posted this previously) :
What do you guys think about using a Coolermaster Realpower M620 as a 2nd power supply ?

and then i will just get a Corsair CX430 to power my old machine : Q9450, 3x ddr2 stick, HD4870. 3 HDD's and 1 dvd drive.
what you think about this ?

I think you should use one big powersupply, and that yours is probably sufficient - you seem to not be interested in that opinion, so just do what you want.

then post pics.
