CPU i5 2500k overclock question.

Thread Starter
sooooooo, i overclocked my pc to 4.5 GHz but i honestly don't need it to be power hungry 24/7.

which setting i need to enable in bios for it to run at default 1.6 GHz and kick in 4.5 only when it needs to?

i know it's a noob question but someone has to ask right tongue.gif

Speedstep is what would be used to get the variable core clock but getting a stable OC with speedster is not the easiest thing to do. Though once you get it stable you can use something like CrystalCPUID to tweak the Speedstep or it can also be adjusted in the BIOS on some motherboards. So put simply enabling Speedstep will give you the throttling just DO NOT turn on Turbo Core.
