Hello everyone,

So I came across Steam today to find Dead Island 50% off from it's original price.

(Here's the link if anyone is interested, http://store.steampowered.com/app/91310/)

Now I really haven't got any games on my PC yet.. and I want some frightening thrills and chills aside from FPS/MMORPG gaming smile.gif. So I am interested..

Should I take on the opportunity and get Dead Island? or get L4D/L4D2.

I really know nothing of both.. so I'd like some opinions.

I'm aware that Dead Island only has co-op? and no online multi-player like L4D series (correct me if I am wrong.)

I might be leaning towards L4D (1 or 2) because of the online gameplay.. Story itself is kind of.. meh~ But Dead island has got some nice graphics smile.gif.

Thoughts?

Thanks smile.gif

Dead Island is much more 'realer' than Left4Dead
Its the reason why I liked it so much.

I'd go for left 4 dead. You can mod l4d with custom campains to get extra replay value.

I would go with dead island, I have both games and I play DI way more. I find it to be more fun being able to mod your own weapons and it feels more "real" The controls in DI are a million times better then L4D2.

I vote L4D. The replay value is insane, not only with custom campaigns, but the sheer randomness of survivors you encounter joining a random game tongue.gif

Yes, the controls aren't perfect. The graphics are middling at best, and there aren't that many maps to begin with. But I tried Dead Island MP, and it just feels too sluggish. Have you tried both to see how you like them? Like somewhere else (because game developers are too dense to release a Demo).

Left for Dead 2.

I have 1000 hours in it. Literally.

Replay Value=insane.

Dead Island has online multiplayer, but it's co-op only. I think you might have meant that to begin with, but just making sure.
As far as which I like more; Dead Island hands down. Fighting zombies with primarily melee weapons works much better in my opinion, and the melee options in L4D kinda suck. Plus co-op is much more fun because you don't need retarded CPU players with you if you don't have 4 people. Honestly L4D has always felt like Escort Mission: The Game (Bonus Jockey Edition, Now YOU Can Be Escorted Too!), whether I had 4 people or not.

left 4 dead 2 easily for me. dead island doesn't feel polished and was pretty buggy when i played. AI was retarded and gameplay was generally clunky - plus there's a large emphasis on melee weapons which i didn't understand.
If you get 1-2 more, I'd be willing to buy a Dead Island 4-pack with you. If you can only find 1 more, I can probably use 2 copies for co-op (or we can do a freebie?).

L4D2, it's my favorite game, I have 600 hrs invested in it (yeah i know) and only got 1 achievement left to do haha xD i need a good team for it lol
but DI is really fun too, it's realistic, and who wouldn't wanna drive a car and hit zombies ?
