XFX 7600GT XXX green (and sometimes pink) corruption!

Hey guys, i've been working on this for 2 days now and could do with some other opinions.

Just built a brand new system. XFX 7600GT XXX single card. Installed Quake 4 and Oblivion to put it through its paces. During the starting video of Quake 4, someones eyebrow got some green corrupt pixels textured onto it. One day later after researching and testing as much as i can...

http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b2...r_t/error2.jpg

Green corruption on textures, lighting and even on the actual screen. All games fully updated. Latest Direct-X 9.0c installed, firmware 91.47 installed yesterday. Also tried 81.42 as it rumoured to fix similar things. No luck. Have stopped runing any 3D software in case it gets worse.

Initially considered overheating but it idles at 51c and with load it reaches 65c. 3Dmark only reached an abismal 1000 points with frame rates of...10! whilst displaying the same green and sometimes pink corruption.

ASUS M2N32-Sli Deluxe wifi edition
2x1Gb VS2GBKIT677D2 Corsair Value select DDR 2 667mhz
Syncmaster 172x monitor
Psi 22a on 12+ PSU

Any help, comments or even vague suggestions are greatly appreciated because i'm running out of time to have this pc working and i'll RMA if the cards faulty. I just don't know if i'm looking at one or not.

Whoa. RMA time. Looks like the card was bad. Getting artifacts right from the start is the sign of a faulty card. Those temps are normal for that card (I have it) and the 3DMark score is terrible. Definitely faulty card.

Thanks, now i've just got to get the XFX guys to think the same as you peeps and get hold of a fault number haha FUN. Would you recommend me getting a replacement instead of a refund? It seemed an awesome card before i went all crappy on me!

Agreed. I absolutely love the 7600GT XXX. Has taken everything that I have thrown at it.

Ahaha... the artifacts have spread to the desktop now! oh how i love pcs!
I was considering rolling back to the drivers that came with the card...51.something i think. That fixed similar probs for someone in the 7900 thread but ffs if its now screwing the desktop, i don't want it to blow up my other shiny parts so... RMA time! i'll try another one, why not eh Thanks for the help both of u.
