Set TV as monitor through ethernet?

Thread Starter
I didn't know where to put this so I thought this section would be the best.

I can connect my tv to my computer and watch whatever is on my computer and have it displayed to my TV no problem, but is there a way to just make my TV work as a monitor of sorts through the ethernet or something?

I say this because my TV is downstairs and my computer is upstairs. I just thought it would be pretty neat.

Thanks!
Ahh!

Pre-requisites for this to work:
1) Wifi enabled TV or get an adapter (more on this in the link below)
2) Sandy Bridge (2nd Gen Intel) processor on your computer

If you have a Sandy Bridge processor on your computer (don't know whether you are referring to the sig rig) the you are in luck - read this - Intel Wireless Display will work for you if you have sandy bridge (Core i3/i/5/i7). If you have an older version or AMD powered

I'm assuming since you mentioned Ethernet to your TV you already have a TV with some kind of network features, now if it has Wifi on your TV and Sandy Bridge processor on your computer then you are all set, but if you just have a Sandy Bridge computer then you can still make it work by getting one of the adapters mentioned here or on the Intel site above!

I have not used the WiDi feature on my Intel CPU yet, but I have know others who used it and had good things to say about it, you just need to be on the same home network as far as I understand!
