Too me the xbox 360 is a fair system, but a poor console... the thing has almost as many problems as a PC and freezes more than a well put together one at that. You would think if designers made games specificaly for the so called 'console' they would be fully compatible and free of freeze bugs (like all other console games, PS2 for example) but thats not the case, its the system. I think they had something good on there hands and then rushed to get it out and beat the PS3 the same way the PS2 beat the XBOX, by hitting the shelves early... little do they know thats not why the PS2 won the console war over the XBOX hehe

Just my 2 cents, this is all IMO and i better go do something important *puts on flame resistant suit*
Tada!

Its a shame that some people had a bad experience with the xbox 360s. My friend's was faulty out of the box!! And it scratched up his disc really bad. But as for me, Ive had one from the very first batch and its been fine ever since! No problems for me!

I was the biggest Microsoft/Xbox fanboy with the original Xbox b/c back then Xbox Live and the Xbox 1 just stomped the PS2. With that being said I bought a 360 (not right off the bat, a few months after launch) and I just am not impressed. I'm so dissapointed. For one, I should not HAVE to buy an add on just so the thing stays cool enough, thats crazy.

Anyway my messed up too. And yes Microsoft did fix it free of charge by sending me a new one as well. But heres the crappy end of the deal. Nothing I purchased on XBL as far as arcade games will let me play the full versions anymore. B/c something about switching out the hard drive and using it in a different Xbox 360 then what it was originally used in messes that up. Microsot of course wont bother to tell you that unless you call back and ASK them about it. So there went at least 50 bucks down the drain.

Anyway, the system is cool though, some cool games, IF you get them to run. Mine is used as a glorified DVD player though.

The disc scratching thing was from people moving/tilting the xbox while the disc was spinning. To Microsoft's credit, it was a warning in the manual. I believe they put a piece of foam in the drive on the later models.

Tada!
The PS2 came out over a year before the Xbox, they were not rushing to beat the xbox on a release date. The PS2 does have better games though, along with a lot of lower-budget games that are a lot of fun to play and can not be found anywhere else. Tokyo Extreme Racer comes to mind...
