Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Pro... - Page 2

Thread Starter
Ok for some reason I didnt have SP1 installed - weirdly I have windows updates set to automatic but ive just manually checked and it found about 20 updates that I didnt have - quite a pain.

Im now having a different problem, windows anytime upgrade is telling me the key isnt right for windows anytime upgrade, I noticed when re-entering it that it specifically asks for a "windows anytime upgrade key" and NOT the product key.
All I have is the product key, do I need to go online and use the product key to generate a windows anytime upgrade key?

EDIT: Ok im very confused, it said that it had failed, but when I look at my system properties it now says "Windows 7 Professional" and the product ID has changed.

Check if any updates are available still. If there are install all of them. And then shutdown the computer to trigger the upgrade, Once it's off turn it back on again. And that should be it. Remember shutdown and turn off after all updates are installed but don't ever restart it. thumb.gif
