I had a similar boot loop system in a new build I did, details in this thread: http://www.overclock.net/t/1185041/boot-loop-with-intel-x79si-mb-and-i7-3960x

I switched out the four 8GB dimms and put in four 2GB dimms. It resolved the Boot Loop problem, but I have since been getting a random BSOD with memory dump - I have used bluescreenview to review the dump file and it says the crash is caused by: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT ntoskrnl.exe

So far I haven't been able to find anything online that helps. I have also done a complete memory test on the four 2GB dimms I am using and no errors are reported. I am relucted to think that these chips are bad since I used them for about a year without a problem in my last build.

This was the exact reason i ditched my UD7, beautiful powerful board...but man.....the boot looping was ridiculous....I would get a double post on my Asus board once in a while.

Try disabling Internal PLL Over-Voltage. This solved it for me on my Asus board. Although you will more than likely need this setting enabled when you seek higher clocks. thumb.gif
