Is my Power Supply the Culprit? Corsair HX1000W

I'm gaming in BF3 - I can get a couple of good gaming sessions in, but occasionally the machine will just shut off. Not locking up or anything, just shuts down and restarts. No windows error messages or anything. I have the bios switch on the 6990 set to the first position for the higher voltage, and my system is overclocked to 4.5ghz. Is this system too much for the Corsair HX1000 or could it be my CPU?

Indeed it sounds like a PSU issue, the HX1000 can output more than enough power for your setup, but the rail arrangement can cause some issues.. do you have both cards(the 6990 and 6970) connected to the same 12v rail?.. you should have the 6990 connected to the 12v2 and the 6970 to the 12v1(the same rail that feeds the CPU).

Yeah, definitely sounds like a PSU problem. And I think Sin's got you covered there ^

Unoriginal Sin,

I didn't think of the rail alignment. I'm going to try that out. Hopefully that takes care of the problem.

Thanks! =)
