Everything I read about the Freezer 7 Pro said it was the best cooler for the money. It is 1/3 the cost of the BT, and performs very close to it. Also, it mounts with out having to remove the motherboard or use any screws

Damnit Pink! lol...Everytime I think that I should wait for the BT VX, or even build my own custom WC setup, you always make me want the AC Freezer7 Pro!

I'm gonna buy it, finally, after TONS of deliberation. I'll FM91 mod it, and maybe put RAM sinks on the base if I can. I don't think I'll lap it because the MX-1 is supposed to be as good as AS5, but we'll see.

Do heatpipes still work as good if they are mounted horizontally?

MX-1's as good as the AS5 BUT, that's without the lapping. ANd if you lap and use MX-1 or AS5 (Your choice) you'll still get good results.

Yeah they work fine. And for the price it really doesnt matter on the cooler. Hell I will proabably get two just cause lol. If you get the ramsinks let me know how it goes that is the next thing I plan on doing here soon.

Yea, we'll see about the ram sinks. I don't necessarily know how much room the block on the Freezer7 has for extra heatsinks in addition to the mounting bracket, but we'll see...

Maybe I can put a few on top and some on the sides of the block lol. Should I just mount the ram sinks with AS5?

^^Usually they have an adhesive thermal pad on them. And there should be room for one ramsink on each side.

EDIT: I just ordered some Thermaltake ramsinks for it.

If you DID want to put the ramsinks on (more than one) you would have to use Thermal Adhesive not Thermal Grease (arctric ceramique) AS5 would not adhese the ramsinks.

The heatpipes on it are actually designed to work horizontally.

Ramsinks on the base huh? I'm afraid it probably isn't possible with the Freezer, its bracket covers alot of the top and there is also a plastic cap on it. At least on the A64 version. I imagin they are very similar in design.

I'd also say lapping is worth it.
Here is my lapping experience with the Freezer.
